Does the doe need to be in the Youth's name to participate in the Youth Show?

No, ownership is not a requirement.  The doe MUST be shown by a Youth (21 and under).  Other Youth Exhibitors can help each other show.

This is my first show. Anything I need to know?

- The month of May can still be cold in Kentucky so body clipping is optional.  A cold hunched up goat does not provide the judges the best advantage to judge your animal.  Definately clean up hair on the the tail, ears and escutcheon (on milkers).  Trim the hooves a few weeks ahead of the show. If you choose to body clip, bring something (blanket, t-shirt, sweatshirt) to give them some warmth until it is show time.

- Check to make sure you have legible tattoos and remember to bring them to the show.  You must have the orginal registration papers or an ADGA issues Stamped Duplicate to show.

- Don't forget water buckets, hay, grain, lead ropes or tie out chains, emergency medications (for people and goats), chairs and snacks/water.

- remember to HAVE FUN!  Showing can be stressful.  If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to the Show Chair or other exhibitors.  We are an easy bunch and will help you out where we can.

What is the dress code?

For showmanship the Youth get extra points on the ADGA Scorecard for wearing clean white pants and a clean white shirt.  It is not required though.

Aim for being clean and professional for the Youth and Open events.

For the adults most wear jeans and a white tshirt or white polo.  If it is warm shorts (not daisy dukes) are ok to wear.  You are welcome to show in all white if you prefer.  It is advised to wear closed toes shoes as goats seem to love to step on toes!
